Day2 17th October Rockhampton to Airlie Beach
After a fitful sleep in the David motel and sustained with fuel for the car and and a Maccas coffee for us, off we go.

I must admit this is a tough bit, just plugging through the kilometres to get to the real start of the adventure.
Couple of stops for leg stretching near Marlborough and Serina before our thankfully uneventful drive has us arriving at our camping ground a little before 2pm.
The camping ground is run by the parents of our fellow traveller Sue. It will be great for her to catch up with her folks and they’re putting on a bbq for all of us.
My goodness, this caravan park/ camping ground is enormous. Even has a waterpark!
It is the Big4 adventure Whitsunday resort. I had no idea and it really is just gorgeous.
The plan was to do a quick bit of shopping to grab some bits for tonight’s bbq, then perhaps a swim.
But as it happens it was much nicer to sit in the shade with the crew, have a couple of drinks and a late lunch of cheese and biccy’s.
Before we headed to the big house for dinner, Sue’s Mum and dad wanted to take us to Sue’s younger brothers (Rodney) house which is at the back of the park.
He sorts all the gardens here and has the most beautiful and enormous nursery around his house.
Full of desert roses and bromeliads and a huge aviary with a collection of parrots.
What a beautiful space and away from the busyness of the caravan park.
First night in the swag tonight, very excited!!!
